Dr. Gentling
"There is no greater honor than a patient’s trust. With every interaction in our office we strive to provide the very best, and to uphold your trust and confidence. This means keeping you well informed and comfortable, and helping you to achieve your best smile”
As an avid surfer, Dr. Gentling set his sights on Oahu and it’s fabled North Shore when he completed his dental education at the University of Washington. Despite the allure of the sunshine and waves, he was drawn back to the Pacific Northwest after just a couple of years in order to be closer to his family and friends.
As luck would have it, little over a year back in the Seattle area led him to reach out to Dr. Stephen MacGeorge, whose children he had competed in swimming with while growing up. As Dr. MacGeorge had spent more than 30 years in the office, the legacy and treatment of his patients was of the utmost importance, and Dr. G was truly an ideal fit.
Dr. Gentling dedicates himself to providing especially high quality and personalized care. In addition to updating the office with the latest equipment and technology, Dr. G is a dedicated learner with countless hours of continuing education in specialized areas such as dental implants, Invisalign orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry.
“I realize that each patient has different goals and priorities for their dental care. While some folks want a beautiful smile, others simply want to enjoy their favorite foods without pain. Each day I do my very best to listen to what patients have to say. Dental treatment planning should be a conversation between patient and provider, not a one-way mandate.”
Dr. Kelsey Christensen
Meet Dr. Christensen
Dr. Christensen’s journey to dentistry began on a pear orchard in the small town of Cashmere, WA. Growing up, she spent her days helping her parents harvest pears and caring for a variety of animals. It was a life full of hard work, fresh air, and community—values that have stayed with her ever since.
Even as a child, she knew she wanted to help people in a hands-on, meaningful way. That dream led her from the quiet orchards of Cashmere to the bustling city of Seattle, where she earned her degree in Neurobiology at the University of Washington. From there, she ventured to Los Angeles to attend UCLA’s School of Dentistry, choosing dentistry as a way to combine her love of science, creativity, and human connection.
After dental school, Dr. Christensen began her career in San Antonio, Texas. While she appreciated the experience and warmth of the community there, she found herself missing the green mountains, misty mornings, and yes even the rain of the Pacific Northwest. Eventually, she returned to Seattle, drawn home by the place and people she loves most.
Patients often describe Dr. Christensen as gentle, calm, and easy to talk to. She believes a trip to the dentist shouldn’t be intimidating. She’s made it her mission to create an environment where patients feel supported, heard, and fully at ease. She loves getting to know her patients beyond just their smiles and considers it an honor to be a part of their care journey.
Dr. Christensen pursued advanced training in implants, sedation dentistry, laser technology, endodontics, oral surgery, and occlusion, because she believes that every patient deserves care that’s both high-quality and tailored to their unique needs.
When she’s not in the office, you can find her exploring Seattle with her two miniature Australian Shepherds, Willow and Hazel, who love the dog park just as much as she does. She’s traveled to 21 countries (and counting), always with a camera in hand. She also enjoys live music, discovering new food spots, and jumping headfirst into new hobbies whether that’s pottery, paddleboarding, or something completely unexpected.
To Dr. Christensen, dentistry is about more than just teeth, it’s about building trust, creating comfort, and helping people feel confident in their smile and themselves.
Bobbie began working in the office as a dental assistant immediately after finishing her training 29 years ago. Over the years her duties have spanned both the front and back office, and have allowed her to provide expert chairside assistant to Dr’s Loss and MacGeorge, and now to Dr. Garrett Gentling.
Bobbie truly loves her job and the relationships that she’s able to build with our patients. In particular she loves working with people who are initially afraid or unhappy with their smiles, but through our gentle and respectful care are able to smile proudly. Bobbie says that, “I want patients to discover that hanging out with us is like a day at the spa. Ok…maybe not THAT zen, but that they’ve learned to trust us and find that dentistry can be pain free. I’m proud of being part of the team that creates that.”
When Bobbie isn’t helping people love their smiles, she’s busy as a health and lifestyle coach, as well as an avid hiker and reader, running both 5 and 10Ks. She loves hot yoga and scrapbooking, but her favorite thing in the whole world is to be with her family. This includes, but is not limited to, her sons Tyler and James, daughter Andi and her love Sean, as well as beautiful, genius granddaughters Raegan and Karter.
Karen has been working in the dental field for over 30 years, spending the last 19 of them as a wonderful part of this family practice. Karen enjoys building relationships with patients and works hard to make them feel comfortable and informed. She hopes that each patient can leave our office happy that they have trusted us with their care.
In her free time, Karen enjoys cooking, camping, scary movies with friends, and searching for Bigfoot. Karen’s greatest joy, as well as that of her late husband, is being a proud parent to their son Sgt. Joseph Anderson.
Jeni was new to the field of dentistry when she joined the office in August 2015. Her 23 years of experience as a retail store manager provided her with a number of skills that she enjoys applying to assist patients and help maximize their benefits and patient experience.
Jeni finds her position at Gentling Smiles very rewarding. When asked about what motivates her, she says “I mostly enjoy getting to know each patient and providing the best front of house experience that I possibly can.”
When Jeni is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. They enjoy camping, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and seeing live music. Their favorite summertime activities include seeing concerts at Woodland Park Zoo and visiting family in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
Jeni is a graduate of Central Washington University and holds a degree in Business Administrative Management.
Molly is a native to the PNW. She has been a Dental Hygienist for 18 years and started her career as a Dental Assistant in a Periodontal office for 2 years. She is a graduate of Shoreline Community College and finished her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene at Eastern Washington University
As a hygienist, Molly loves to engage the patient with dental fears and make them comfortable, and maybe actually enjoy coming in for routine care.
In her spare time Molly is the captain of a relay team that runs 200 mile relays in Washington and other states. She has completed many half marathons and other running challenges. She enjoys golf, soccer, and most anything the PNW has to offer taking her silver lab Luna along for the ride.
Stella is the office mascot and she’s a fixture behind the reception desk in her plush bed buried by toys. She has been coming into the office and easing our patients’ anxiety since she was just 8 weeks old. She is extremely sociable and loves kiddos especially!
